The Upbeat Swing Orchestra is available for your event as a 17-piece Big Band plus vocalists. A Big Band is composed of 5 saxophones (two altos, two tenors, and one baritone, any of which can double on clarinet), 4 trumpets, 4 trombones (three tenor and one bass), and a rhythm section composed of piano, rhythm guitar, bass guitar and/or upright bass, and drums. The Upbeat Swing Orchestra also has both male and female vocalists.

Our professional musicians can also be hired in smaller groups down to trios, including the vocalists.

The Upbeat Swing Orchestra specializes in swing dance music of the Big Band Era. Our library is composed of transcriptions of the biggest selling version of a chart. Our book also includes Latin and modern jazz Big Band music for variety. We have vocals made famous by Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Bobby Darin, Sammy Davis, Shirley Bassey, Ray Connif, Judy Garland, and the singers of the Big Bands.

Rates depend on the size of the band desired, the length of the performance, and even the day of week. For this reason, it is impossible to simply list a set of rates. Please provide us your event information so we can work with you to suggest the appropriate group for your event, and enable us to provide an accurate quote as quickly as possible.

We believe in using our music to contribute to the community, and do perform charity work for accredited charities (with Tax ID number) based on our availability.
